FINAL FRIDAY ART OPENING:
Graves aka Charles Onfire
Friday, December 26
5:30-7:30

Graves is a self taught mixed-media abstract artist whose 37-year practice, spanning intermittent creative breaks, is driven by a deeply internal dialogue. He creates primarily for himself, focusing on dark, psychological themes realized through techniques combining acrylic with detailed layering of caulk, gels, paper, water color, marker and colored pencil. His current work is a technical revival of foundational, unexecuted concepts from sketchbooks from his early years, now featuring a powerful new tension created by the introduction of brighter colors and creating his own repeated patterns using linocut technique.

Graves is currently working on new projects, professionally, personally and musically through experimentation and combination of new mediums.

He resides in Northside with his loving and supportive wife and his most loyal and sweet dog.

“Most people say my work is ‘interesting’ and I find that interesting”

-Graves
