Adam Farrington was born in Long Island in 1971. When He matured he graduated from SUNY Purchase with a bachelors of fine art and moved to New Orleans. He enjoys speaking in the third person sometimes. But other times he doesn’t.
I have been widening my definition of what it is to be creative, and enjoy balancing my time running Farrington Smith Gallery with my time creating art in the studio.
I have been propagating Peggy Martin rose bushes in galvanized garden, next to my studio. Peggy Martin Roses are remarkably tenacious despite having no thorns, and I have been successfully propagating her, despite my having no previous experience in agriculture. Peggy is the kind of botanical wonder that I would like to emulate on my human journey.
Upon closer examination, you may notice that my paintings are almost entirely devoid of draftsmanship, which some would say is unforgivable after attending 4 years of art school. Peggy would say that we should enjoy the parameters that our limitations provide for us, and move forward.
