FINAL FRIDAY ART OPENING:
LINDSEY HURST
Friday, June 26
5:30-7:30 | ALL AGES
Lindsey Hurst is drawing, carving wood, and printmaking in Cincinnati, OH. Her artwork evokes emotionally indulgent narratives of inner turmoil and silly moments, reaching for a balance of relatability, gripping some deeper considerations, and always being fun to look at. She’s thinking about failed romance, Midwest trash culture, emotional escape routes, and the power of friendship. She’s inspired by a combo of early 2000s cartoons like Powerpuff Girls and 15th century printmakers like Albrecht Durer. Hurst majored in Community Arts at Miami University (Hamilton, OH) in 2022. She continues her printmaking processes at home or at Fuse Press (Norwood, OH), and travels to other studios for projects or residencies; Tiger Lily Press (Cincinnati), Flatbed Press (Austin, TX), and Spiderhole Studio/Evil Prints (St. Louis, MO). Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, and Brooklyn, NY.
