ABOUT MAJESTAS:
Majestas plays with occult imagery and some biblical themes from the story of Paradise Lost. I wanted to change the idea that eating the apple from the tree of knowledge and good and evil is bad. In my story the apple is the key to unlocking compassion, empathy and reasoning. I am using child-like beings with animal skulls because both children and animals are initially born free of religious ideology. Their appearance might be unsettling to some but it is meant to bridge them between the modern human world and the shamanistic. They act as emissaries that are on a mission to enlighten earth’s creatures. This series is my first time drawing and shading in a completely digital medium. All work was created on an IPad using the Ipencil.
