SHARP TOYS RESIDENCY with STATIC FALLS

Sharp Toys was created in the summer of 2018 after many hours of sharing songs, influences and a mutual interest in making heavy, dark, psychedelic music. This culminated in a completely improvised session that solidified their undeniable chemistry.  The new band had a strong collective desire to write impactful, anti patriarchal songs with tinges of romantic longing. They have a driven, powerful, grungey sound with lots of Baritone guitar, Bass VI, drop tuned telecasters and percussion inspired mostly from 70s classic rock beats.  The vocals are pure and at times harrowing with a likeness to PJ Harvey, Chrissie Hynde and Jessica Lee Mayfield. After months of carving out time together, the trio was offered a show at a local venue which the band agreed to play incognito. The sound that night was best described as “it’s like the Melvins on acid!”
